Justin Townes Earle’s critically acclaimed 2010 album, Harlem River Blues, debuted #47 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and led to a “Song of the Year” award at the 2011 Americana Music Awards. He recently dropped his fourth full-length studio album, Nothing’s Gonna Change the Way You Feel About Me Now and has been featured in publications such as GQ, Rolling Stone, SPIN, Paste, and many others. Recorded in Asheville, NC, his latest album is a step in a different direction than his last, “I think that it’s the job of the artist to be in transition and constantly learn more. The new record is completely different than my last one, Harlem River Blues. This time I’ve gone in a Memphis-soul direction.” His performance repertoire includes appearances at the Grand Ole Opry, Carnegie Hall, Bonnaroo, SXSW and the Newport Folk Festival. He also appeared on HBO’s Treme with his dad, troubadour Steve Earle, a guest on his Grammy Award-winning record Townes.
He’s accumulated quite the resume since his arrival on the scene in 2008 and is touching down in Pittsburgh this Saturday, November 3rd for an intimate show at Mr. Smalls. Doors are at 7 and the show is at 8. Check out the title track from his new album below:
