The Harlan Twins are set to release their latest album, OLD FAMILIAR on vinyl at a party this Friday night at Belvederes following a City Paper cover story and much ado about a band that has stole the hearts of many Pittsburghers. Their talent and charm has cemented the band into the forefront of the local indie music scene, but their recent CP cover story flirts with the question of the band wanting more and whether they’ll ever grow out of their Pittsburgh shell as they approach their 30s and endure many shifts in their lineup. The only certainty is that their latest release is as solid as their others, with the songs being “more directly and intentionally written”. The working relationship between the band’s two core members, Carrie Battle and James Hart, retains the “old familiarity” their latest album title speaks of despite the recent changes in lineup between the rest of the band members.
